applications
Create fixture designs and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
Develop and optimize welding processes for fabricated assemblies
Perform offline robotic welding programming
Support setup, programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of robotic welding
systems
Work directly with welders, production supervisors, engineering, and quality personnel to
improve manufacturability
Evaluate new and existing jobs for welding efficiency, cycle-time reduction, fixture
requirements, and automation opportunities
Troubleshoot weld quality, distortion, fit-up, and production issues
Assist with process development for new product introductions and first-article builds
Recommend improvements to welding methods, tooling, equipment, and workflow
Help establish repeatable processes that improve weld quality, throughput, and operator
efficiency
Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout fabrication and welding
operations
Qualifications
5–10 years of welding and/or weld engineering experience in a manufacturing or metal
fabrication environment
Strong practical knowledge of welding processes and fabricated assemblies
Demonstrated experience designing weld fixtures and tooling
Proficiency with SolidWorks
Experience with robotic welding systems and offline robot programming
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, GDT, and
manufacturing specifications
Strong understanding of weld sequencing, distortion control, joint design, tolerances, and
fixture requirements
Ability to work effectively with both engineering personnel and shop-floor production
teams
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
