Legal Billing Specialist - San Diego, CA | Hybrid


Established full-service law firm in San Diego is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join its collaborative team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong legal billing experience who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and finalize client invoices based on firm and client billing guidelines
  
  
• Handle write-downs, rate corrections, trust applications, and split billing
  
  
• Submit invoices through eBilling platforms and resolve rejections or adjustments
  
  
• Monitor attorney time and expenses for accuracy and compliance
  
  
• Assist with collections and follow up on outstanding accounts
  
  
• Manage eBilling setups, client onboarding, rate approvals, and matter setup in Aderant
  
  
• Process LEDES files and ensure billing documents are accurate and professional
  
  
• Work with attorneys, staff, and clients to resolve billing discrepancies and invoice issues
  
  
• Maintain billing records and prepare monthly reports on AR, trusts, time, costs, and matter status
  
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years of legal billing experience in a law firm environment
  
  
• High school diploma
  
  
• Experience with Aderant, ProLaw, Elite 3E, or similar billing software
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
  
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
  
  
• Discretion when handling confidential financial and client information
  
  
• iManage and SQL experience preferred
